Dermal fillers – contour your chin, cheeks and more without makeup

Fillers can seem rather daunting if you’re new to the game – but facial contour, a type of procedure offered by several aesthetic clinics can transform your appearance in a matter of minutes and has zero downtime.
What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are a bulking agent successfully used to wage war on wrinkles and to recreate volume. Loss of volume in the face is one of the key culprits of ageing. As we grow older, our facial muscles and connecting tissue begin to sag, often resulting in sunken cheeks and temples. Hyaluronic acid, which is found naturally in the body, is synthetically produced as a pure product and used as a filling agent for various parts of the face. Dermal fillers will help to smooth lines, enhance lips and restore cheeks to give you a more youthful and fresh-faced look.
Thérapie Clinic’s preferred dermal filler is the world-renowned Juvederm.
What is facial contouring and how do dermal fillers play a role?
Facial contouring is the name given when a combination of different dermal filler procedures are used together in order to create a natural-looking contour to the face. The areas are typically the cheeks, chin and jawline but not every case will need all three done and the amount of filler needed for each person can vary completely.
Facial contouring is a non-surgical way to enhance and define the natural angles, outlines and facial structure to give a fresher, streamlined look and to beautify facial features. Typically, cheek filler is usually injected with a small needle in three separate marks on the highest part of the cheekbone in order to lift the face and give the appearance of naturally contoured cheekbones. Jawline filler is placed along where the natural jawline is (or would be, as some don’t have a strong jawline at all) typically with a cannula, and gets rid of the appearance of a round, undefined face.

Here’s how it works at Thérapie Clinic

1. All our treatments begin with a private consultation that includes a full facial assessment by our professional team. The client’s desired outcomes are discussed, and a treatment plan decided.
2. Immediately after this, the treatment is given. The procedure itself is quite straightforward and takes only minutes. A fine needle is used to inject the filler into the targeted facial muscle.
3. Before leaving the clinic, we provide all our clients with comprehensive post-treatment care advice.
Am I suitable for dermal fillers?
Do not use dermal fillers if you are pregnant, breast feeding or bruise easily. If you’re unsure of your suitability our doctors will advise you further at the consultation.
How long do the results last for?
One of the great advantages of dermal fillers is that the effects are long lasting but not permanent. Duration depends on many factors, such as the individual’s skin type, lifestyle and age. After the initial treatment, follow-up sessions are normally recommended around every 6 to 12 months depending on the individual and the treatment. A treatment of the lips lasts from 3 to 6 months. Your doctor will give you more information during your consultation.
