Benefits of Laser Hair Removal

Laser Hair removal is without doubt the best way to achieve permanent hair removal from most parts of the body, and will allow you to cut out the hassle of shaving, depilatory creams, tweezing and plucking for good.

Lasers work by targeting the pigment in the skin, called melanin. In the case of Laser Hair removal, the melanin in the hair responds to the concentrated beam of light from the laser, destroying it and inhibiting further growth. As laser will selectively target the melanin it leaves surrounding ski undamaged.

Each pulse of the laser takes only a fraction of a second and can treat several hairs at the same time; it treats an area about the size of a 2 euro coin every second. This means it’s easy to have large areas of skin such as the legs lasered, or the back and chest for men. These areas will take a while to cover but it’s infinitely more effective than any other method, and small areas like the upper lip can be treated very quickly.

After an average of 4 to 6 sessions of Laser Hair removal treatment, 90% of clients achieve permanent hair loss. It can vary from person to person, but you can always get a top up treatment and in all cases hair is much paler and finer.

How to Prepare for Laser Hair Removal

If you are planning on undergoing laser hair removal, you should limit plucking, waxing, and electrolysis for six weeks before treatment. That’s because the laser targets the hairs’ roots, which are temporarily removed by waxing or plucking.
You should also avoid sun exposure for six weeks before and after treatment. Sun exposure makes laser hair removal less effective and makes complications after treatment more likely.
