Here’s why less is more with lip fillers at Thérapie Clinic

Will the quest for fuller lips ever end? As recently as this month, we’ve seen social media stars gluing their lips in an attempt to replicate the likes of Kylie Jenner and Angelina Jolie! Why do people resort to gimmicks when lip fillers offer a long-term, pain-free, natural solution?

With lip fillers, there’s a misconception that you need to go big or go home to get the results you want. Here at Thérapie Clinics, we’ve decided to bust that myth.

First off, let’s get to grips with what filler is
The first thing you need to know is that not all filler is created equal. The most common – and the one used at Thérapie Clinics, Juvederm – are based on hyaluronic acid (a substance that occurs naturally in our bodies and is highly attracted to water and binds to moisture).

Lip fillers typically last six months to a year and can be instantly reversed with an injection of hyaluronidase, an enzyme that melts filler away should you decide you no longer want it.

What’s involved?

All of Thérapie Clinics’ treatments begin with a private consultation that includes a full facial assessment by our professional team. If treatment is deemed suitable, the client’s areas of concern are discussed, options explored, and a personal treatment plan decided.

Immediately after the consultation, the treatment can commence, with measures ranging from 0.5ml up to 2ml. The procedure itself is quite straightforward and takes only minutes. A fine needle is used to inject the targeted facial muscle.

Before leaving the clinic, we provide all our clients with comprehensive post-treatment care advice. We also provide an optional follow up appointment for assessment two weeks after treatment.

The results are lips that are more contoured, more enhanced.
With lip fillers, don’t think that the goal is simply making them look bigger. Dermal fillers can both enhance a younger lip and volumise the ageing lip.

There are a range of options for augmentation – your lips can be subtly enhanced to soften fine lip lines and define contour or more dramatically plumped depending on the individual desire of the patient.

How soon will I see said results?
The results following a filler treatment will, of course, vary from person to person and the areas treated. It is normal for there to be some swelling and possibly even some bruising for a few days after facial fillers but generally you will see an immediate difference in volume and shape of the treated area.

The results tend to improve as the swelling settles and the filler begins to sit more naturally in the skin. This may take around two weeks.
