Most of us aspire to having clear skin but the reality is that many of us
grapple with blemishes including blackheads, whiteheads, pimples and acne.
Most unsightly is the scarring that acne can leave behind. Known as ‘postinflammatory hyper-pigmentation’, these marks are reddish or brown in
colour, and can range from mild to severe. They typically take two forms –
scars that have a gradual dip or small depression into the skin, or scars that
are deep and narrow.
At Thérapie Clinic, we have a number of treatments available for acne
scarring including laser resurfacing, IPL (intense pulsed light), glycolic peels
We understand that each person’s skin is unique, and this is why we suggest
you book in for a skin consultation when our professional staff will determine
the best treatment for your skin concerns.in.
This is a very clever treatment designed to stimulate the collagen in our skin. Tiny needles are used repeatedly to puncture the skin and this creates microscopic channels in the dermis layer where collagen is produced.
While the outside layer of skin is unaffected by the procedure, the body receives the treatment as trauma to the area and so begins to produce compensatory amounts of collagen.
Microneedling produces a specific variety of collagen referred to as Type 111 Collagen, the body’s natural healing agent. In addition to healing the skin, it diminishes the scars caused by acne. The skin appears smoother and plumper to reduce the pitting and hyper-pigmentation left by acne marks.
